"Hello Fate??? There's Been A Mixup!"

When I grow up, I want to be this guy. 

Seriously.

I know I'm a bit old to look at someone elses life wistfully and wish we could trade places, but I can't help it.  In  youth obsessed gay culture, most of us turn our backs on the future and what growing older means.    Well listen close Mary, because it doesn't have to be scary.  This gay man has carved out a life I would give my eye teeth for in so many respects!

I've written about the apathy of today's queer youth and how they lack role models.   This guy would be my role model on paper.  (Okay...cyber paper.)

Active, theater involved, teacher/prof, educated, married (on my freakin birthday no less) landscape designer, AND living in a green house he designed on his own!   (HELLO???? Fate?  There's been a mixup!)

Today Is "Celebrate Bisexuality Day!"

And what better way to say "Way to go bisexuals!" than a celebratory 'snap' from newly admitted "bisexual" coverboy, Mika!

In an interview with the Dutch magazine, "Day & Night" Mika say's..."I've never ever labeled myself. -- Call me whatever you want. Call me bisexual, if you need a term for me."
And he goes on to recommend the label-less route for everyone else: 
"There are ways of being a role model without having to always having to establish yourself with a label. Let's say if you're a 16-year-old guy, and you're not sure about your sexuality, you should be as free as you want...Having a role model who makes you feel like it's alright to do whatever you want, without the pressure of a label, I think that's a good thing as well. I think there's a million different ways to do it, there isn't only one. And I hope I'm right."
First off, excuse me while I gag.   Secondly, I'm about as surprised at Mika liking cock as I was about Clay Aiken.   However with all due respect to legitmate bisexuals out there, as one commenter on Queerty said the other day "'I have yet to meet one person who told me that they were bi, who isn't out as gay a few years later'".  

I also have to say, in this interview Mika validates my point from the other day about younger queers eschewing labels.

Mika is talented with a huge pop appeal, however given how he defines virtues of a role model? I wouldn't recommend him as one to anyone...... let alone a queer youth.
