Is It Wrong I'm So Excited?

Is it wrong that, as a mature gay male I am quivering with excitement over the closing ceremonies of the Olympics?  I mean c'mon!  The SPICE GIRLS!   Yes I know they were a manufactured group, and yes I know the singing was always 'iffy'.....but I don't care!  I loved them, and still do!  Will they get along? How do they look? Is Posh going to smile?  Is Emma still adorable? Is Geri still rockin her rockin body??  Is Sporty still throwin down that Cokney accent?  I can't wait!

Of course there will be others, George Michael, The Who, Annie Lennox blah blah blah ---and I also truly love George and Annie....but I'm most excited about the girls!

The MINI Podcast Is Up!

Podbean is still working to fix whatever issue is affecting the posting of the Life & Times of a Gay Guy podcast, but good news.... the MINI podcast is here!  The MINI podcast is a shortened but much less fattening version.  For the full version you'll have to get it on iTunes if you're so inclined (and we hope you are)....when it's fixed.  In the meantime you can get a taste on the MINI Podcast page on the Nav Bar above which is where you'll find new postings every Sunday!

Podbean? You Suck.

So the podcast is supposed to be up and running.   It SHOULD be up and running, but oddly enough it's not.   I dunno why.   I upgraded the bandwidth account, I've uploaded the finished episode...but it just aint happenin.   Perhaps it will be 'processed' by tomorrow but I gotta tell ya it's frustrating!   Kevin from The Lisp is on with his music pics on Eclectic Grooves.  Aunt Frannie is doing OUR History now and even though she sounds a little like she sucked a tank of helium  I think it's going to be great!  Great.....IF we can get the damn thing published to iTunes!

Here's the new artwork for the first episode of the podcast....can't get THAT to show up yet either lol.   Ahh well......stuff happens!
(But Podbean?  You still suck!)

Heart On My Sleeve

I was once told, by my boss no less, that I wear my heart on my sleeve.
He wasn't being mean, it was just an observation. That was a long time ago and although I had no clue what it meant at the time, I played along as though I did. Of course I know now it means a person who doesn't conceal their feelings, and I'm okay with that. I own it. It's a part of me, neither good nor bad. It's part of this fabulous package that is moi.
It's also a big pain in the ass, because it's pretty much impossible for me to put on a facade or a shield when I'm angry or hurt. So my strategy when those things happen is to withdraw and get really quiet which is also a 'tell'...like in poker, which I wouldn't be any good at obviously lol.
I accept that I wear my heart on my sleeve and I gotta say it's been pretty bruised up over the last few weeks. I can't go into detail because some things are personal for others (me, I'm just an open sore, remember?).
But.
I'm really pissed off that at 45 freakin years on this planet I can still be hurt like a dumb school gurl, I mean I should be past all that by now, right?  Plus adding insult to injury when my gaze falls on that symbolic heart, on my sleeve.....I feel mad, embarrassed and hurt that in this instance it's so....plainly obvious...and yet I'm the only one who recognizes it.
Maybe I could play poker after all.

Meryl & Her Own Worst Movie Pick

Meryl Streep was on 'Watch What Happens LIVE' with Andy Cohen tonight and in typical 'Streep Fashion' it was FAB!  I love watching interviews with her because she is such an absolutely cool, but also  down to earth, cucumber.

She doesn't hesitate to say "No" like when she was asked to perform the line "A dingo ate my baby", and she doesn't give false praise like when she was asked about the first thing that came to her mind about Julia Roberts lol.

During the interview she was also asked what was her worst movie and she answered "Still of the Night" from 1982.  I'd never seen (or heard of) it, so I found it on youtube.  It DOES look like a clunker lol.    I see you can watch it online for free, so I may have to set aside some time to pop some popcorn and settle in for some fun!  I have such admiration for Meryl Streep, she is just one of my all time favorite Actors.   (I also have a small crush on Andy Cohen, but that's an all together different post. Don't judge me.)
Here's the trailer:

And the poster:

Time Travel Thursday

I absolutely love the way the young guy on the right is staring at his....friend? Brother? Companion?  Of course we'll never know for sure what their relationship actually was....but you have to admit there is something special behind that gaze, that intimate pose, and in the choice of the backdrop.   In any event, it's an adorable photo.

Cutest Photo Of A Baby Gorilla...Ever

This is, without a doubt, THEE cutest picture you'll ever see of a baby gorilla.
This cute lil guy's name is Yakini, and he was born in Austrailia in 1999.   Who among us hasn't made a similar face at the Drs office, albeit not as cute.

Here he is this past November for his 12th birthday, and as you can see he has grown quite a bit.
