Recently I was at my mom's house, helping her clean out closets (insert gay joke here) and we came upon a stack of old magazines. Now when I say 'old', I don't mean a couple months 'old'....I'm talking decades. I wasn't surprised to find them as she's always saved Christmas editions of "Family Circle", "Good Housekeeping" and "Better Homes & Gardens", but these hadn't seen the light of day for a very long time.
It's been fun flipping through the pages and reading the articles, but I've enjoyed looking at the Ads the most. There are some funny ones, some that you wondered whatever happened to the product, and even a few provocative ones.
This one made me laugh out loud.
Just the whole idea of the nun saying "Halo everyone, Halo!" cracks me up. I don't know why nuns are so funny to me.....probably because I never had one as a teacher.
And this next one.....well let's just say I actually remember it from my junior high days in 7th or 8th grade for obvious reasons.
We're talkin two pages with staples in the center spread here. Pretty racy for Good Housekeeping 1986.
Ahh the memories.

I remember that underwear ad too. Is there anything more beautiful than the male body?
Holy smokes! I'd almost forgotten about that Fruit of the Loom ad....how could I?? I remember "Look" and "Country" magazines....times seemed so much more simple, innocent, then. Magazines don't seem to hold the impact they once did.
That headless guy has a smokin hot body, I can see why it made such an impression!
goeff that is oen fien man! --XX OO --cc
